It demonstrates that the knowledge of German is indispensable for Czech citizens. However, English has occupied the position of the first foreign language; with this in mind, we outline some selected aspects regarding the teaching of German after students have been in contact with English first. A special emphasis has been laid on learning strategies, motivation or sensitization for cultural diversity. In the summary some recommendations for the language policy of the Czech Republic are formulated. They deal with education of pre-service teachers of foreign languages at the Faculties of Education, and with lifelong learning of in- service teachers.
<pdfFileUrl>https://acc-ern.tul.cz/archiv/PDF/ACC_2010_2_01.pdf</pdfFileUrl><publicationDate>2010-12-31</publicationDate><pageFrom>5</pageFrom><pageTo>12</pageTo><doi/></languageVersion><authors><author><name>Hana</name><surname>Andrášová</surname><order>1</order><instituteAffiliation/><role>AUTHOR</role></author></authors><references/></article><article externalId="ACC_21719"><type>ORIGINAL_ARTICLE</type><languageVersion externalId="en21719" language="en"><title>Japan’s public finances from the viewpoint of european fiscal rules</title>
The balance of public budgets and public debt is the basic characteristics of the public finances of an economy. Influenced by the economic crisis between 2008 and 2009, the majority of developed countries struggle with the risks connected with sustainability of their public finances. The criteria for defining fiscal discipline in Eurozone are represented by Maastricht convergence criteria and by the existence and the function of the Stability and Growth Pact. The state of Japan’s public finances in comparison with the state of public finances of the Eurozone countries shows worse parameters and worse developmental tendencies of both characteristics. In 2009 the deficit of public budgets was higher only in two Eurozone countries and Japan’s public debt was almost two times higher than the highest value in the Eurozone. Without immediate and efficient fiscal consolidation Japan’s public finances will become one of the main threats to the future development of Japan’s economy.
<pdfFileUrl>https://acc-ern.tul.cz/archiv/PDF/ACC_2010_2_02.pdf</pdfFileUrl><publicationDate>2010-12-31</publicationDate><pageFrom>13</pageFrom><pageTo>23</pageTo><doi/></languageVersion><authors><author><name>Pavla</name><surname>Bednářová</surname><order>1</order><instituteAffiliation/><role>AUTHOR</role></author></authors><references/></article><article externalId="ACC_21720"><type>ORIGINAL_ARTICLE</type><languageVersion externalId="en21720" language="en"><title>The history of methodologies as a metacognitive language learning strategy</title>
This paper presents research work within the frame of the Faculty Internal Grant (Interní Grantová Soutež –IGS-FP-TUL-č. 114/2009 -Č.j.:KRO/231/2009.). The work contains empirical research and analysis of valuation methods applied to two real case studies in the Czech Republic. The article discusses a problem of economic efficiency of enviromental protection costs needed to remove old ecological burdens. In the first part there are outlined various economic approaches to optimization of stabilization processes. The second part deals with a model of cost efficiency for a specific stabilization technology and its possible accounting records. This paper was prepared with the financial aid of the Czech state budget through the project “Advanced remediation technologies and processes No. 1MO554“ from the program “Research Centres PP2-DP01“ of the Ministry of Education Youth and Sports.
<pdfFileUrl>https://acc-ern.tul.cz/archiv/PDF/ACC_2010_2_04.pdf</pdfFileUrl><publicationDate>2010-12-31</publicationDate><pageFrom>30</pageFrom><pageTo>39</pageTo><doi/></languageVersion><authors><author><name>Aguilar Silvia</name><surname>Čiháková</surname><order>1</order><instituteAffiliation/><role>AUTHOR</role></author><author><name>Martina</name><surname>Černíková</surname><order>2</order><instituteAffiliation/><role>AUTHOR</role></author></authors><references/></article><article externalId="ACC_21722"><type>ORIGINAL_ARTICLE</type><languageVersion externalId="en21722" language="en"><title>Foreign direct investment and investment incentives; comparison of the Czech republic and the Liberec region</title>
Foreign direct investment (FDI) has a considerable influence on economic development in Central European transition economies, including that of the Czech Republic. It was a source of capital given the initial situation and the undercapitalisation of economies at the beginning of transformation, but it also had a transmissive function and influenced the structure of economies, the size of fiscal revenues and the appearance of the supply side of the labour market. This article is divided into three parts. The first one deals with the theoretical definition of FDI and its classification, the second one concentrates on the development of FDI in the Czech Republic and the issue of investment incentives, which are closely related to FDI. The third part of the article looks at the issue of FDI and investment incentives in the Liberec Region as an example of the regional view of the issue. The aim of the article is to analyse the benefits and risks of FDI in the Czech Republic at the level of the economy as a whole and that of the region selected.
<pdfFileUrl>https://acc-ern.tul.cz/archiv/PDF/ACC_2010_2_05.pdf</pdfFileUrl><publicationDate>2010-12-31</publicationDate><pageFrom>40</pageFrom><pageTo>52</pageTo><doi/></languageVersion><authors><author><name>Jaroslav</name><surname>Demel</surname><order>1</order><instituteAffiliation/><role>AUTHOR</role></author><author><name>Zuzana</name><surname>Potužáková</surname><order>2</order><instituteAffiliation/><role>AUTHOR</role></author></authors><references/></article><article externalId="ACC_21723"><type>ORIGINAL_ARTICLE</type><languageVersion externalId="en21723" language="en"><title>Ways of taking random samples from a population for the needs of an economic indicators analysis</title>
The aim of this article is to provide a list of possibilities how to take random samples from the Czech Republic’s population and, consequently, their comparison. However, we must not forget the fact that when taking random samples in practise, we are limited by financial means, working force that participates in the survey, and other factors. The verification bases on analysis and other activities. The target is to determine whether there is a relationship between factor F1 – unemployment and the educational level. Regarding the availability of data for the whole population, the relationship could be judged directly by using characteristics of population. However, only a sample was used to verify the hypothesis. The selection of the sample was made considering what could be the best data to investigate the hypothesis. We used the methods of descriptive statistics to analyse the sample and we judged the relationship of factor F1 and education using Eta squared and Pearson’s R.
<pdfFileUrl>https://acc-ern.tul.cz/archiv/PDF/ACC_2010_2_08.pdf</pdfFileUrl><publicationDate>2010-12-31</publicationDate><pageFrom>73</pageFrom><pageTo>82</pageTo><doi/></languageVersion><authors><author><name>Valentová Vladimíra</name><surname>Hovorková</surname><order>1</order><instituteAffiliation/><role>AUTHOR</role></author><author><name>Iva</name><surname>Nedomlelová</surname><order>2</order><instituteAffiliation/><role>AUTHOR</role></author></authors><references/></article><article externalId="ACC_21726"><type>ORIGINAL_ARTICLE</type><languageVersion externalId="en21726" language="en"><title>Internet - area for life and education of young generation</title>
The target of this article is to put education of children and young people in the Czech Republic into context with the changes in lifestyle of young generation in which an intensive contact with information and communication technologies becomes more important. The research was aimed at studying the dependence of innovative activity on size of a company, diversity of innovative activities in small, medium and large enterprises and to identify the reasons for limiting the innovative activity of enterprises. From the research results it can be seen that innovative activity grows with the size of enterprises. Small and medium-sized enterprises focus rather on non-technical innovation with organizational and marketing nature. The main limiting factors of innovation performance are the lack of financial and informational resources and their own approach to the innovation.
<pdfFileUrl>https://acc-ern.tul.cz/archiv/PDF/ACC_2010_2_11.pdf</pdfFileUrl><publicationDate>2010-12-31</publicationDate><pageFrom>100</pageFrom><pageTo>112</pageTo><doi/></languageVersion><authors><author><name>Petra</name><surname>Matějovská</surname><order>1</order><instituteAffiliation/><role>AUTHOR</role></author><author><name>Miroslav</name><surname>Žižka</surname><order>2</order><instituteAffiliation/><role>AUTHOR</role></author></authors><references/></article><article externalId="ACC_21729"><type>ORIGINAL_ARTICLE</type><languageVersion externalId="en21729" language="en"><title>University studies network in the nisa (ern) – on the research project outcomes</title>
The presented research report deals with the continuation phase of the project which was delivered at the Technical University of Liberec in 2010. The International Organization for Standardization is about to issue the new ISO 26000 standard, which will focus on the issue of corporate social responsibility. This article presents the results of the primary questionnaire survey into the attitudes and opinions of leading Norwegian firms as regards corporate social responsibility. The survey is also focused on the demand for the new ISO 26000 standard before it is issued. The results of the survey imply that selected Norwegian firms are aware of the concept of corporate social responsibility and the ISO 26000 standard. NLP specialists list visual, auditory, kinaesthetic, olfactory, and gustatory senses as parts of this system, which provides educators with a tool to study how individuals attach meaning to events, and how they formulate ideas in words. The predominant method of data processing is a mixture of the first three basic modes mentioned above. The main idea of this article is to show a repertoire of tasks and types of classroom activities which utilise some elements of NLP theory and the notion of multiple intelligences.
