Using Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) secondary data, the study analyzes changes in the shares of gross value added and employment across sectors classified according to the digital-intensity taxonomy. Structural dynamics are quantified using the Structural Change Index (SCI). The results show that changes in the sectoral distribution of value creation were limited, while employment shifts were more pronounced. Digital transformation, therefore, appears to occur primarily through adjustments within sectors rather than through major structural restructuring.
<publicationDate>2026-04-30</publicationDate><pageFrom>1</pageFrom><pageTo>17</pageTo><doi>10.2478/acc-2026-0007</doi><keywords><keyword>Digital economy</keyword><keyword>Digital transformation</keyword><keyword>Labor market</keyword><keyword>Sectoral dynamics</keyword><keyword>Structural Change Index</keyword></keywords></languageVersion><authors><author><name>Jan</name><surname>Schmutzer</surname><email>jan.schmutzer@tul.cz</email><order>1</order><instituteAffiliation>Technical University of Liberec, Faculty of Economics, student</instituteAffiliation><role>AUTHOR</role></author></authors><references><reference><unparsedContent>Acemoglu, D., &amp; Restrepo, P.
