After conducting statistical analysis on sets of tests developed by the Faculty of Economics and Administration, the Faculty of Social Studies and the Faculty of Pedagogy, the argument for checking assumptions originally attributed to the tests, which had been liable to close scrutiny of teams of language teachers and pretested on students of the target population, turned out to be not only important but also hugely fascinating and worth in-depth investigation. While the analysis confirmed some of the original assumptions about individual test items as well as complete parts of tests, its evidence also shed light on those items calling for further revision and improvement. This paper will look at ways of how statistical analysis can help test developers make tests more reliable and at the same time alert us of pitfalls that we would not be aware of be it not for its insight.
<pdfFileUrl>https://acc-ern.tul.cz/archiv/PDF/ACC_2013_3_05.pdf</pdfFileUrl><publicationDate>2013-12-31</publicationDate><pageFrom>37</pageFrom><pageTo>45</pageTo><doi/></languageVersion><authors><author><name>Jiřin</name><surname>Hrbáčková</surname><order>1</order><instituteAffiliation/><role>AUTHOR</role></author><author><name>Milan</name><surname>Boháček</surname><order>2</order><instituteAffiliation/><role>AUTHOR</role></author></authors><references/></article><article externalId="ACC_21440"><type>ORIGINAL_ARTICLE</type><languageVersion externalId="en21440" language="en"><title>Teaching business german at universities and possible testing forms at the C1 level</title>
This paper deals with some problems in the teaching of German at the Faculty of Economics and Administration of Masaryk University in Brno, as well as possible ways, as can the German economic CEFR level C1 test. The article is based on such characteristics of the helping process as intentionality and relationship. Understanding of the power mechanism within the helping relationship draws on the understanding of the change in the position and roles of a social worker in the postmodern era. The second basis is the philosophical conception of the power within the helping relationship. Theoretical reflection of the importance of temporality in the helping relationship is illustrated by the results of the qualitative survey carried out in the framework of the SGS FP TUL project Ethical dilemmas of community work.
<pdfFileUrl>https://acc-ern.tul.cz/archiv/PDF/ACC_2013_3_08.pdf</pdfFileUrl><publicationDate>2013-12-31</publicationDate><pageFrom>61</pageFrom><pageTo>67</pageTo><doi/></languageVersion><authors><author><name>Helena</name><surname>Kalábová</surname><order>1</order><instituteAffiliation/><role>AUTHOR</role></author><author><name>Tatiana</name><surname>Matulayová</surname><order>2</order><instituteAffiliation/><role>AUTHOR</role></author><author><name>Jan</name><surname>Jihlavec</surname><order>3</order><instituteAffiliation/><role>AUTHOR</role></author></authors><references/></article><article externalId="ACC_21443"><type>ORIGINAL_ARTICLE</type><languageVersion externalId="en21443" language="en"><title>Jewish youth movement blau-weiss in Czechoslovakia (1918-1933)</title>
The study deals with the question of the formation of the Jewish youth movement Blau-Weiss in the period before the year of 1918 and at the time of the first Czechoslovak Republic. The aim of the research among girls with this type of combined disability was to conduct a survey to gain as much information as possible about the possibilities for motor training, movement activities and physiotherapy that can suppress regression and improve quality of life. The questions put to 14 mothers revealed that standard physical exercise is not possible given the girls’ health and mental condition. Consequently, physiotherapeutic concepts and methods (Vojta reflex locomotion, the Bobath concept) and other complementary therapies (canistherapy, hippotheraphy, music therapy, ergotheraphy et al.) are applied, attended by the girls mainly as part of compulsory schooling. When working with European Language Portfolio, its online versions prove to be more viable than its hard copies. The display of competencies of the teachers and the workers suggest the possibility of cooperation in the framework of inclusive education in the Czech Republic. The formulation process of the competencies of school special education teachers is based on existing legislation. We consider the fact that the job placement of school social workers in the current Czech school legislation is not defined. The nominated textbooks are very different in many aspects, but especially in the presentation of grammar. Based on a detailed comparative analysis of both textbooks, it shows that unlike the deductive procedure applied in the textbook of Czech authors studio d uses almost exclusively inductive process. These differences resulted in the need for changes in teaching methodology. After two years of using, the new textbook passed the evaluations of students with a positive result. Also, the statistics of students’ success in examinations was evaluated.
