In our survey, we asked tourists who had visited this region what they liked most and what least, how they evaluated the facilities and the services and what they would recommend to their friends. During the evaluation, we realized that one of the most important factors influencing the overall perception of the tourist area was the process of creation of perceived space through its parts – landmarks. This article therefore tries to reflect on two geographic methods: the concept of place and method of mental mapping and on how the perceived space is generated from holiday experiences. Understanding this process may provide more effective forms of promotion of tourist areas in future.
<pdfFileUrl>https://acc-ern.tul.cz/archiv/PDF/ACC_2016_3_01.pdf</pdfFileUrl><publicationDate>2016-12-31</publicationDate><pageFrom>7</pageFrom><pageTo>13</pageTo><doi>10.15240/tul/004/2016-3-001</doi><keywords><keyword>Liberec Region</keyword><keyword>Tourism</keyword><keyword>Landmark</keyword><keyword>Mental maps</keyword></keywords></languageVersion><authors><author><name>Emil</name><surname>Drápela</surname><order>1</order><instituteAffiliation/><role>AUTHOR</role></author><author><name>Tereza</name><surname>Brožková</surname><order>2</order><instituteAffiliation/><role>AUTHOR</role></author></authors><references/></article><article externalId="ACC_20126"><type>ORIGINAL_ARTICLE</type><languageVersion externalId="en20126" language="en"><title>Fundamental evaluative adjective patterns in british broadsheet and tabloid newspaper discourse</title>
News discourse has been analysed from different angles including the critical approach, stylistic approach, corpus-linguistic approach, cognitive approach, diachronic approach, socio-linguistic approach etc. [1]. Yet, these approaches do not focus on analysing attitude/evaluation as such. That is why this study sets out to explore and compare expressing attitude/evaluation via two lexicogrammatical patterns which were identified by Hunston and Sinclair [2] and amended by Bednarek [3]. The adjective lexicogrammatical patterns ‘it v-link ADJ finite/non-finite clause’ and ‘v-link ADJ prep’ seem to be the most prominent carriers of evaluative language in a corpus of six British English online ‘popular’ and ‘quality’ newspapers. The paper compares not only the frequency of the patterns in the corpus but also the differences in the use of the patterns between the quality and popular newspapers.
<pdfFileUrl>https://acc-ern.tul.cz/archiv/PDF/ACC_2016_3_02.pdf</pdfFileUrl><publicationDate>2016-12-31</publicationDate><pageFrom>14</pageFrom><pageTo>23</pageTo><doi>10.15240/tul/004/2016-3-002</doi><keywords><keyword>Evaluation</keyword><keyword>Patterns</keyword><keyword>Adjective</keyword><keyword>Newspaper</keyword><keyword>Discourse</keyword><keyword>Corpus</keyword></keywords></languageVersion><authors><author><name>Petra</name><surname>Peldová</surname><order>1</order><instituteAffiliation/><role>AUTHOR</role></author></authors><references/></article><article externalId="ACC_20127"><type>ORIGINAL_ARTICLE</type><languageVersion externalId="en20127" language="en"><title>WiDaF® Basic and WiDaF® Examinations as a Language Competencies Criterion When Entering the Job Market</title>
Since 2016, the Faculty of Economics, Technical University of Liberec (EF TUL) has been the Public Testing Center for internationally recognized exams in German, Wirtschaft auf Deutsch – WiDaF® Basic and WiDaF®. This is the reason why the structure and syllabus are becoming obsolete. Many teams of teachers study new content of teaching materials and new ways of teaching. These efforts are supported by different organizations, beginning with the leadership of schools across the state authorities to the bodies of the European Union. In our study, students’ point of view is examined. The group of respondents consists of both potential and current students, as well as the former ones. The emphasis is laid on finding skills which "ordinary people", according to their opinion, need for their personal and professional life. The aim of the research was to determine the knowledge and skills that should be part of the studies according to these people, and on the other hand, to point out things which they would gladly give up. The survey was conducted among schools at all levels, although the priority was the college level studies. Our expectations were confirmed in many ways. However, many of the requirements were inconsistent with the actual state of education. The knowledge gained in our research could help in creating track objects, their content and the form of teaching.
<pdfFileUrl>https://acc-ern.tul.cz/archiv/PDF/ACC_2016_3_04.pdf</pdfFileUrl><publicationDate>2016-12-31</publicationDate><pageFrom>31</pageFrom><pageTo>43</pageTo><doi>10.15240/tul/004/2016-3-004</doi><keywords><keyword>Professional competence</keyword><keyword>Undergraduate students</keyword><keyword>Exploration</keyword><keyword>Tests of hypothesis</keyword><keyword>Decision trees</keyword></keywords></languageVersion><authors><author><name>Marta</name><surname>Žambochová</surname><order>1</order><instituteAffiliation/><role>AUTHOR</role></author><author><name>Aneta</name><surname>Kulhanová</surname><order>2</order><instituteAffiliation/><role>AUTHOR</role></author></authors><references/></article><article externalId="ACC_20129"><type>ORIGINAL_ARTICLE</type><languageVersion externalId="en20129" language="en"><title>The process of transformation and the issue of “being at home” in helping professions</title>
The contribution opens up the wider context of the issue of the claim of transformation in helping professions, explains the phenomenon of home and its importance in the life of a man in connection with separation claims in the living referent with notification of the possible pitfalls and habitual traps and the implementation of life as rich and original as possible.
<pdfFileUrl>https://acc-ern.tul.cz/archiv/PDF/ACC_2016_3_05.pdf</pdfFileUrl><publicationDate>2016-12-31</publicationDate><pageFrom>45</pageFrom><pageTo>53</pageTo><doi>10.15240/tul/004/2016-3-005</doi><keywords><keyword>Transformation</keyword><keyword>Family</keyword><keyword>Family emotional field</keyword><keyword>Synchronization</keyword><keyword>Oscillation</keyword><keyword>Movement</keyword><keyword>Crisis</keyword><keyword>Original existence</keyword></keywords></languageVersion><authors><author><name>Helena</name><surname>Kalábová</surname><order>1</order><instituteAffiliation/><role>AUTHOR</role></author><author><name>Martin</name><surname>Korych</surname><order>2</order><instituteAffiliation/><role>AUTHOR</role></author></authors><references/></article><article externalId="ACC_20130"><type>ORIGINAL_ARTICLE</type><languageVersion externalId="en20130" language="en"><title>Perception skills and written-text decoding among students from non-philological subjects</title>
This paper examines reading and comprehension skills.
