Medical Purposes) and explains the thorniest problems both the teacher and the student&#13;
encounter in Medical English language courses. In the first part, the major challenges are&#13;
focused on and analysed. Firstly, based on a placement test, multilevel classes are illustrated.&#13;
Secondly, medical terminology and the most common vocabulary and pronunciation mistakes&#13;
are pinpointed. And thirdly, the lack of usable up-to-date study materials is mentioned and the&#13;
assets of e-learning are emphasized. In the second part of the article, with reference to a&#13;
survey and its respondents comments, the role of an ESP teacher is discussed.
<pdfFileUrl>https://acc-ern.tul.cz/archiv/PDF/ACC_2019_3_01.pdf</pdfFileUrl><publicationDate>2019-12-31</publicationDate><pageFrom>7</pageFrom><pageTo>20</pageTo><doi>10.15240/tul/004/2019-3-001</doi><keywords><keyword>EGP</keyword><keyword>ESP</keyword><keyword>EMP</keyword><keyword>Heterogeneity</keyword><keyword>Terminology</keyword></keywords></languageVersion><authors><author><name>Edita</name><surname>Drozdová</surname><email>edita.drozdova@tul.cz</email><order>1</order><instituteAffiliation>Technical University of Liberec, Faculty of Economics, Department of Foreign Languages</instituteAffiliation><role>AUTHOR</role></author></authors><references><reference><unparsedContent>HUTCHINSON, T.; WATERS, A: English for Specific Purposes. The sample included 107 boys and 109 girls at the age of 10-12 from the Liberec region. The basic somatic parameters (body height, body weight, amount of subcutaneous fat) were discovered. Then seven motor tests from FITNESSGRAM and UNIFITTEST (6-60) were chosen for the measurement of the components of physical fitness. ActiGraph activity monitors were used for measuring the level of physical activity. The measured results of the level of physical activity and the components of physical fitness were put to the test of comparison analysis. No significant relations between measured samples of boys and girls at the age of 10-12 were discovered on the basis of correlative analysis. Informative application of test battery for the diagnostics of the level of physical activity in school as well as after-school environment by means of modern technologies is recommended for the particular age categories on the basis of the conclusions of the study.
<pdfFileUrl>https://acc-ern.tul.cz/archiv/PDF/ACC_2019_3_02.pdf</pdfFileUrl><publicationDate>2019-12-31</publicationDate><pageFrom>21</pageFrom><pageTo>33</pageTo><doi>10.15240/tul/004/2019-3-002</doi><keywords><keyword>Accelerometers</keyword><keyword>Correlation</keyword><keyword>Steps</keyword><keyword>Motoric tests</keyword><keyword>Somatic parameters</keyword></keywords></languageVersion><authors><author><name>Jaroslav</name><surname>Kupr</surname><email>jaroslav.kupr@tul.cz</email><order>1</order><instituteAffiliation>Technická univerzita v Liberci, Fakulta přírodovědně-humanitní a pedagogická, Katedra tělesné výchovy</instituteAffiliation><role>AUTHOR</role></author><author><name>Aleš</name><surname>Suchomel</surname><email>ales.suchomel@tul.cz</email><order>2</order><instituteAffiliation>Technická univerzita v Liberci, Fakulta přírodovědně-humanitní a pedagogická, Katedra tělesné výchovy</instituteAffiliation><role>AUTHOR</role></author><author><name>Klára</name><surname>Kuprová</surname><email>klara.kuprova@tul.cz</email><order>3</order><instituteAffiliation>Technická univerzita v Liberci, Fakulta přírodovědně-humanitní a pedagogická, Katedra tělesné výchovy</instituteAffiliation><role>AUTHOR</role></author></authors><references><reference><unparsedContent>ARMSTRONG, N.: (1989). The examination results are from outcomes of the standardized language examination used in NATO countries (examinations in accordance with NATO STANAG 6001). The garnered data were gathered from a questionnaire administered to students enrolled in intensive, life-long language learning courses during one academic year. Statistical methods were applied to analyse the data obtained from the questionnaire to compare how accurately the students and their teachers were able to predict the actual examination corollary.
<pdfFileUrl>https://acc-ern.tul.cz/archiv/PDF/ACC_2019_3_04.pdf</pdfFileUrl><publicationDate>2019-12-31</publicationDate><pageFrom>46</pageFrom><pageTo>61</pageTo><doi>10.15240/tul/004/2019-3-004</doi><keywords><keyword>Language assessment</keyword><keyword>Self-assessment</keyword><keyword>Standardized examination</keyword><keyword>Questionnaire</keyword><keyword>Data analysis.</keyword></keywords></languageVersion><authors><author><name>Mária</name><surname>Šikolová</surname><email>maria.sikolova@unob.cz</email><order>1</order><instituteAffiliation>University of Defence, Language Centre</instituteAffiliation><role>AUTHOR</role></author><author><name>Ludmila</name><surname>Koláčková</surname><email>ludmila.kolackova@unob.cz</email><order>2</order><instituteAffiliation>University of Defence, Language Centre</instituteAffiliation><role>AUTHOR</role></author><author><name>Ludmila</name><surname>Neubauer</surname><email>jiri.neubauer@unob.cz</email><order>3</order><instituteAffiliation>University of Defence, Faculty of Military Leadership, Department of Quantitative Methods</instituteAffiliation><role>AUTHOR</role></author><author><name>Marek</name><surname>Sedlačík</surname><email>marek.sedlacik@unob.cz</email><order>4</order><instituteAffiliation>University of Defence, Faculty of Military Leadership, Department of Quantitative Methods</instituteAffiliation><role>AUTHOR</role></author></authors><references><reference><unparsedContent>ČECHOVÁ, I.; SALIGER, R.: Development of Academic Staff' Competencies.
